E-Commerce Vendor ShopSite Announces Version 7.1 of Leading Shopping Cart System

Popular software adds gift certificates, XML upload, YourPaySM Gateway, WorldPay gateway, and intruder detection

October 19, 2004 -- ShopSite, Inc., a leading provider of e-commerce shopping cart and catalog software for small to medium-sized businesses, announced today the release of ShopSite 7.1. ShopSite™ is an industry leading e-commerce software option for hosting providers, for new or existing Internet merchants, and for Web designers.

"7.1 builds upon last year's successful introduction of ShopSite 7," said CEO David Hills. "Our engineers love to add features that will make merchants more successful. The new features have been designed to meet ShopSite's strict ease-of-use requirements. Perhaps best of all, there is no charge to get the new features when a merchant upgrades from 7.0 to 7.1"

ShopSite Pro 7.1 adds support for digital and physical gift certificates, which create a new revenue source for getting shoppers to buy at a merchant's store. ShopSite Pro 7.1 also adds XML support for page and product uploads and downloads. This allows for programmatic interfaces into the merchant's store. For example, real-time updating of the merchant's on-line inventory or pricing from a separate back office database.

ShopSite has always been a leader in adding security features, and does so again by logging all access to the merchant's orders and alerting the merchant if someone besides the merchant and trusted employees has attempted to access their orders. Fraud protection has also been improved to deter automated programs that try numerous credit card numbers hoping to find one that will be accepted.

ShopSite has added support for two new payment gateways -- YourPaySM and WorldPay. "As the nation's largest merchant acquirer, Chase Merchant Services is dedicated to providing merchants with industry-leading electronic payment solutions designed to give them an edge in the marketplace," said Drew Freeman, Executive Vice President of Chase Merchant Services, L.L.C. "Chase Merchant Services + YourPay + ShopSite gives merchants a secure and easy yet powerful solution to their e-commerce needs."

"WorldPay is an important solution for our international customers," said John Young, VP of ShopSite Sales. "We are very pleased to have this leading international gateway integrated into ShopSite."

ShopSite is sold by hundreds of reseller partners, including hosting companies such as NTT/Verio, BizLand, LexiConn, YourHost.com, pair Networks, SiteSell, BroadSpire, and Globat.com®,. The thousands of merchant Web sites using ShopSite include the Getty Trust Foundation, Hometime, X10, Avia and many others.
