E-Commerce Vendor ShopSite Announces Version 7.0 of Leading Shopping Cart System
Popular software adds customer registration management, new levels of integration and increased ease of use
OREM, Utah, December 15, 2003 -- ShopSite, Inc., a leading provider of e-commerce shopping cart and catalog software for small to medium-sized businesses, today announced the release of the new ShopSite 7. ShopSite is an increasingly popular e-commerce software option for ISPs and Hosting providers, for new or existing Internet merchants, and for Web designers.
"The more people use our software, the more they love it," said CEO David Hills. "We're a consistent leading-edge provider. But more than that, we've created a product that makes the merchant successful. And the new features in ShopSite 7 are especially designed to give merchants the innovative tools to be even more successful than ever before."
The new ShopSite Pro 7.0 software introduces the ability to manage customer registration. With ShopSite, an Internet store will remember the customer, including their preferred forms of payment and any previous "ship to" addresses. In addition, this advanced functionality allows merchants to define customer groups, such as wholesalers, retailers, or regular customers, and assign to each group its appropriate and unique type of coupon or level of discount. For example, when a customer signs in, ShopSite can automatically put the appropriate coupons in their shopping cart based on their customer group, such as a "frequent customer club", or a "gold" or "platinum" customer group.
ShopSite includes a template language that allows designers to fully customize any ShopSite-generated product or catalog page. ShopSite 7 extends this template functionality to the new registration screens and to the Shopping Cart screens in ShopSite Manager and ShopSite Pro. The minicart feature of ShopSite 7 gives users a shopping cart summary that can show up even on static product pages. ShopSite 7 continues to leverage the strength of using search-engine-friendly "static" pages instead of "dynamic" pages that load slower and are ignored by most search engines.
The software also offers an increased level of integration with Intuit QuickBooks and with eBay's PayPal, and includes a new credit card processing option with the Paymentech Orbital Gateway. ShopSite also continues to support its integration with UPS, VeriSign's PayFlow Pro, Authorize.Net, and Cardservice International. In addition, ShopSite has continued to enhance the ease of use, templates, and security features that have made ShopSite the most popular e-commerce option for hosting companies and merchants over the past seven years.
ShopSite is sold by hundreds of reseller partners, including hosting companies such as Verio, BizLand, LexiConn, pair Networks and YourHost.com. The thousands of merchant Web sites using ShopSite include the Getty Trust Foundation, Fiskars Brands, Hometime, HobbyTron.com, Chuck E. Cheese, PremiumKnives.com, and many others.
