E-Commerce Vendor ShopSite Announces Version 10 of Leading Shopping Cart System
-Popular software adds HTML editor, Inventory API, and support for Doba drop shipping service.
October 14 2008, Orem, Utah -- ShopSite, Inc., a leading provider of e-commerce shopping cart and catalog software for small to medium-sized businesses, announced the release of its new ShopSite Version 10. ShopSite® is an industry leading e-commerce software option for web hosting providers, for new or existing Internet merchants, and for Web designers.
"We are excited that ShopSite has achieved the status of a Certified Integration Partner, having recently completed an integration with Doba's product sourcing API", said Blaine Nielsen, CEO of Doba. "Their integration gives ShopSite merchants the ability to choose from over 1,000,000 wholesale products that can be simply added to their website with a click of a button and also automates the ordering and drop ship fulfillment process."
"New features such as Doba and the HTML Editor are available in all ShopSite product levels - Starter, Manager, and Pro" said CEO David Hills. "Additionally some features previously available only in the top of the line Pro level are now available in Manager. Manager merchants can now enjoy features such as Google Analytics, Custom Page and Product Fields, and Page Sort."
New Features
HTML Editor (Pro, Manager, Starter)
Many text fields can now be edited using a word processor-like HTML Editor. Toolbar buttons allow merchants to quickly add layout and style elements, and view the results as they edit the text.
Doba drop shipping (Pro, Manager, Starter)
ShopSite has integrated support for Doba drop shipping service. Doba has over 1,000,000 products that ShopSite merchants can sell without having to physically handle a single product. ShopSite can automatically import product information from Doba and post it to the merchant's store for ordering by shoppers. Order information is directly sent to Doba for fulfillment.
Value Added Tax (VAT/GST) (Pro, Manager, Starter)
Merchants in the European Union can now use an integrated VAT/GST calculator. ShopSite can be configured to automatically calculate value added tax based off the merchant's country and the customer's country and postal code.
Remote Orders Database (Pro, Manager, Starter)
Merchants who store sensitive customer information, such as credit card numbers, can configure ShopSite to store the sensitive order information in a remote database. Storing sensitive information on a remote server in an internal network zone is a PCI requirement.
Inventory API (Pro)
A new API has been added for developers of third-party inventory control applications. The API allows merchants to use an add-on application to track and manage product inventory in ShopSite.
Multiple Shipping Carriers (Pro, Manager)
ShopSite now allows merchants to display shipping rates from multiple carriers in the shopping cart. Merchants can subscribe for UPS, FedEx, and USPS real-time shipping quotes, then display quotes from each of the services for the customer to select from.
Improved PayPal Fraud Protection (Pro, Manager, Starter)
ShopSite has been updated to use PayPal's latest APIs, which offer improved fraud protection features.
