Q: I am a merchant using CyberCash for credit card processing with Shopsite. I received a notice from VeriSign (who now owns CyberCash) that I will be moved to VeriSign. I need to know if anything needs to change in our ShopSite setup?
A: VeriSign has assured us that the integration will be seamless on the ShopSite end, no settings will need to be changed. They are basically writing wrappers that will take a request sent from ShopSite to CyberCash and send it through to the VeriSign account, and then vice-versa to respond to ShopSite in the CyberCash method.
The following was posted on the ShopSite Newsgroup:
"Is there a way to set the telephone number as a required field? Some customers don't leave the number, but I need it for the shipper (FedEx)?"
I had the same problem. As far as I know you cannot make this field a required one, so I did the following workaround: In the ShopSite -> Preferences ->Store Text -> Billing look for Phone Number, in the field type something like:
<b>Phone number</b> (required information for FedEx delivery)or something similar, this will make the customer aware of your logistical need for the phone number. Since I have set up our cart like this, all customers give us the phone number without the field being required.
